Welcome Creative One ❤️

I’m curious, how did you find me? Did you see one of my intuitive paintings or join me on a Community Canvas at a festival or event? Have you taken a Regenerative Creativity class? Maybe you saw me painting and talking about my art and my process online? How we arrived here together right now is one of my favorite mysteries and it makes my heart so joyful anytime I think about it. Well done us!

You are a creative being! You came into this world with a sense of wonder and a desire to make things, build things, birth things into existence. You had big dreams and an even bigger imagination that catapulted you from a curious child to a productive adult. The world was a big, wide place to explore and you were eager to find your place in it. You worked hard, real hard, to make a good life for you and your loved ones. Congratulations on adulting, you did great!

But I’m guessing you have noticed something lately; a kind of niggling at the back of your brain. Or maybe it sounds more like a whisper from your heart, reminding you of something important you forgot. Perhaps yours feels like an aching in your gut, saying you are going the wrong way. Something is missing and it feels important.

“But I came here to paint a picture right?”

Yes, a very personal picture. You see, in your pursuit of a good life, life got a hold of you a bit too. Big forces, including your career, culture and family required you to make compromises to the dreams you imagined as a kid. These choices were often subtle, making perfect sense at the time. They were necessary for the life you want to create. You were working so hard to be a good members of each of your communities you didn’t notice what the accumulation of these compromises did to your SELF. Now is your time to do an inventory, of sorts, on yourself. Are you curious to spend some time, listen and ask yourself important questions? Regenerative Creativity was created for you to do this sacred and important work. It’s time to let go of the past outcomes you have been working so hard at and enjoy being in the present; open to possibilities you have yet to consider. This is where your true creativity lives and where you will explore YOU through painting and sharing in community.

“Yes! I want space to learn to listen more deeply to my SELF! How does painting fit into this?”

Enter a nourishing space and allow your own unique WAY to burst forth. The act of painting while listening can open access to messages from yourself you have been yearning to hear. In Regenerative Creativity you let go of knowing where you are going in order to get to the really good stuff! The crazy cool thing is you have no idea what that picture will be when you start. Layer by layer, intention by intention, your painting will organically take form. This is truly the most freeing way to paint! I will guide you with painting techniques connected to inquiries to get you out of your regular thinking state and into your creative parts. This magical combination of painting and listening allows you to access your own unique answer with ease and joy. In a world full of noise and “stuff” what could be more beautiful than the peace that comes from gaining more clarity within yourself. Your Regenerative Creativity journey will provide you with over 30 hours of painting at the canvas as you explore inquires around the topics of Curiosity, Beauty, Vitality, Adventure, Freedom, Love, Truth and Solitude. The 8 phases of the Regenerative Creativity cycle will hold you as you create a way of working that is right for you.

“What do you mean by a way of working?”

Along with learning to access messages through painting, you will discover your own answers to how you “tick”. You are a completely unique individual with your own very specific way of creating in your life. In each phase of the Regenerative Creativity cycle you will discover your own unique answers for how you best function. Check out each of the eight phases to see what part of you will be explored there.

Regenerative Creativity Cycle

Phase 1: Curiosity

“I wonder…”

When the creation cycle is just beginning, curiosity is key.  Letting your dreamer run wild and staying open to every idea, even the crazy ones, is needed here!  The temptation to “just pick one” can kill your creative soul and limit your chances of finding the best solution for the problem you are trying to solve!  Learn the value of lingering in the curiosity phase before jumping in!  This is the phase where you will start your inquiry into what you want to create in and from this class, through painting while listening to YOU.

Phase 2: Beauty

“I desire…”

Artists fuel their soul with beauty; the smell, touch, taste, sights and sounds of their environment.  You need these things to inspire the creative that is inside of you too.  Discover your own unique source for beauty and give yourself the fuel you need to live life with creativity, ease and joy.   The Beauty phase is about the soul, what your heart needs to fall in love with life.  How can you feel more pleasure from life?  What do you need to connect to the beauty around you?  Your painting process will help you find what you desire.

Phase 3: Vitality

“I require…”

Once you set your eyes on your goal, vitality is truly needed to see you through. What you need to keep your body healthy is specific to you.  Vitality is about listening into the rhythms of your life to discover what your body is asking of you.  How does your body want to move?  What feels like the right amount of rest for you?  What food will bring you the energy you want to do your work in the world.  Sometimes, taking care of the body can feel like a chore.  The Vitality phase wants to change that by giving you space to find your unique way of falling in love with caring for your body.  Your body is a  vessel that houses YOU!  Painting while listening can help you find a way to honor and love your sacred vessel!

Phase 4: Adventure

“I activate…”

Discover how YOU are meant to journey through your creative projects and fall in love with YOUR unique process.  When you look at your work as an adventure, you can tap into the benefits of play?   How do you want your work day to feel?  How does your current job fit with how you work best?  The Adventure phase is a chance to paint answers to this big question of how you do what you do in your job, your creative pursuits and your life.  Here you will also come to see how everything is a creative process.  How you make art just might give you clues to how you work best in other areas of your life.

Phase 5: Freedom

“I celebrate…”

When a project is complete it is time to stand on the summit of your creation and look out over all you have accomplished!  Unfortunately, taking a moment to breathe it all in and celebrate your achievements is often undervalued in our society.  When you don’t take the time to celebrate the completion of a job, you may find all your creations just run together in a never ending list of work.   In the Freedom phase you will explore your way of marking completion cycles.  You will have the time to paint with the intention of what freedom feels like to you and use the information that comes to create your own celebrations.

Phase 6: Love

“I connect…”

When you complete a creative pursuit that is not the end of the cycle!  The love phase calls you to share your creations, and their story, with othersThe act of sharing brings energy and joy to the life of YOU, the creator.  Discover how you can complete your love phase in a way that is safe, meaningful and unique to YOU!  You have heard that the world needs your art, but even more important is that you need to share your creations.  You will see the full reason as you head to the Truth phase.

Phase 7: Truth

“I understand…”

Reflecting on your experience of sharing your creations with others helps you learn what your gifts truly mean for yourself and the world.
In the Truth phase you will discover your deeper truth for why you create.  This deeper truth is often connected to those original dreams you had as a child.  Painting into this phase of the Regenerative Creativity cycle can bring up information you may not have spent much time thinking about before.  Some people discover a deep sense of purpose when they learn their deeper meaning.  Others feel a connection to something bigger than themselves.

Phase 8: Solitude

“I release…”

Solitude focuses on releasing from the creative process, moving into the empty space between projects and pursuits, and taking time to rest into the void.  You will be practicing detaching from your regular state of productivity in the hopes of experiencing what it feels like to just be.  When you hurry from one project to the next you open ourselves up to the potential of feeling unfulfilled, exhausted, and unprepared to welcome truly meaningful new experiences.

The Legend of Regenerative Creativity

It all began with a painting…

In the fall of 2023 I had this sudden calling to take a painting I was working on out to a yurt in the forest. I had never done anything like this before, but I had been saying yes to a lot of new things since leaving my teaching job of 20 years due to burnout. While I was there, alone in the forest, I painted and wrote and observed my painting, and as I spent time moving between each of these creative acts the messages from the painting began to reveal themselves.

I noticed that the small words I had written on the painting, my core words for 2023, began to fit into a cycle. The more I wrote and worked with the words the more clear the cycle became. I realized that after burning out from the way I use to work, I had subconsciously been looking for a new way. Through accessing my own information through painting, I had birthed a process that allowed me to find my own unique way of working. I could see how this process would allow me to bring my creations into the world with so much more joy and ease. I was in awe! It was like the ideas just popped out of me: I hadn’t “thought” them into existence, I had painted them! It made me wonder what part of me was creating this?

Two years later, this painting would answer the question, “what part of me is creating all of this?” Keep reading to discover the answer.

I spent the next year living and creating into the Regenerative Creativity cycle. I found the phases popping up everywhere!

  • When friends would share with me that they have so many cool ideas for their creative businesses, but didn’t know which one to choose, I found myself saying, “That’s because you are in the Curiosity phase”.

  • After participating in a big art show I honor the Freedom phase of Regenerative Creativity by creating a commemorative collage to hang in my studio; intentionally celebrating the completion of that creative pursuit.

  • I lovingly decorated the lobby in my studio with blue velvet couches and vintage chairs as part of my Beauty cycle.

In that same year I created classes to see if others could access their own way of working through Regenerative Creativity. I travelled around with my 8 phases of the cycle and met so many beautiful individuals! I felt all the feels from extreme terror (how would I create eight, three hour classes that included guided painting, visualizations, meditations, sharing circle, not to mention all the advertising, material set up and technical learning needed to host online!) to overflowing gratitude when guest would share their experience in the Red Thread circle. The stories they shared encouraged me that this truly was something special!

To reach even more guests I attended festivals and brought along my Community Canvas, a place where anyone could paint and connect in the spirit of the event.  Here I shared what I had learned through living and creating with Regenerative Creativity.  My community grew, along with my confidence in myself and my process. I knew this is what I wanted to dedicating the rest of my life to exploring!

Now it’s time to get back to the question of, “what part of me is creating all of this?” During my most recent trip to Musea for our yearly Legend painting retreat I met my Divine Self. She came through on the canvas gradually through hours painting, listening and sharing in community.

At the end of the retreat her message was this: “You are fully Human and fully Divine all the time!” As I lived into this message over the next several months I understood the importance of knowing this. Most of the time I walk around in Human awareness, things I can see and feel. This experience includes my thoughts and opinions which seem to originate from my analyzing brain. In my Human self, no matter how hard I try, fear and worry often influence things more than I would like. But during these moments I am also fully Divine, an eternal soul with access to infinite knowledge and no fear.

This state of self isn’t accessed by the thinking brain, but feels like it comes from deep in the heart or gut. Creativity is one way I get out of my analyzing brain where I am better able to hear my Divine self. She also wanted me to know I can ask her to deal with all my uncertainty, as she is way better at coming up with solutions to these problems when I am in this state. She is the part of me that showed me the Regenerative Creativity Cycle. She knew that once I understood this my Human self would know what to do with it. I believe we are all fully Human and fully Divine and can access infinite knowledge to live out our most aligned existence.

Now Is Your Time!

Here it is! This is YOUR fresh canvas, full of potential and ready for you to start your self exploration journey.

“I believe we all have our own unique way: of creating, working, living… and we can accessing this unique code through Regenerative Creativity!”

Supply List

Paint

I use student grade acrylic paints in my studio classes, and professional grade paints for my personal paintings.  I recommend using what you feel comfortable with.  Low cost paints generally have less pigment and a more jelly texture so don’t expect them to give you the same intense colors and smooth application as more quality paints.  If you are new to acrylics I encourage you to get curious and buy a variety of small tubes that fit your budget!  I have experimented with dollar store paint and some colors work great.

Brushes

In intuitive painting, any and all brushes are great!  I like to have a “pointy” brush, that acts kind of like a pencil, for making wandering lines.  For filling in and covering large areas with paint, a flat brush works great: I call this my “painting the fence” brush.  A coarse, horse hair brush comes in handy for flicking star dust.  In our community we also love a big, fat brush for making bold marks!  I mainly use student grade brushes in all my work because I treat them rough!

Canvas

We work mainly on pre-stretched canvas as it provides a sturdy surface to work on.  Canvas panels are also great and are even more durable.  I have used all levels of quality of canvases so choose the price that suits you.

Easel?

I love painting on an easel!  A table easel is great for sitting, while a stand easel allows you to switch from standing to sitting.  You can absolutely paint flat on a table, but I recommend figuring out a way to tilt your canvas for times when you want the paint to drip.  I have kids lean their canvas on their water bottles when painting at schools!

Palette

A palette is the place you put your blobs of paint while you are painting.  I have tried lots of different types from ones you purchase to old yogurt lids or glass panels.  My current favorite is a clipboard with a piece of scale paper clipped to it.  You can buy a whole box of 2000 sheets of scale paper at restaurant supply shops or online and it will likely last you a lifetime.  When I am done I either throw it out or save it for making mixed media art.

Spray Bottles

We love to drip paint!  I have both a regular and a small, fine mist spray bottle I picked up at a dollar store.

Rags

Simply your best friend for clean up, rubbing out marks you want to change and catching drippy paint.  I keep old towels and t-shirts for this purpose.

If you can’t make a live class or would just love to go back and rewatch a step, recordings will be available 24 hours after the live date. In your classes you will be guided every step of the way with painting techniques and inquiries. I will always demonstrate first and then give time for you to paint! You will also experience guided visualizations, storytelling, poetry and lots of music and support throughout the class. The final 30 minutes will be a red thread sharing circle where each person present will have the opportunity to share what came up for them during the class. Sharing is powerful as the entire community will listen and witness your story, giving you the chance to be heard and held. Sharing is completely optional and you can decide to just listen which is also so valuable to building our community. You will know in the moment what’s right for you and you will grow in your experience in community over time.

How long do I have to access the recordings?

You will have the entire 2026 year to enjoy this course and the recordings!

How much does the 4 month course cost?

You have a choice of how much you want to pay. The course is valued at $825 CAD but you can choose to pay $550 CAD or $275 CAD. You can also break the payments into 4 interest free chunks by choosing Klarna as Payment at checkout. Just a reminder, these prices are in Canadian dollars so all my USA friends already get a great deal saving close to $0.30 per $1.00 making $825 CAD closer to $600 USD!

What is your refund policy?

Self exploration is a very personal experience and you need to feel safe.  We guarantee that if you go through the entire regenerative creativity cycle and don’t experience a shift, we will refund 100% of your investment.  Choosing to try should never hurt.

Who can take this course?

Regenerative Creativity is for anyone looking to ignite their creative parts through painting and listening to their own inner knowing! I have taught 10 year old’s to 90 year old’s, but I do recommend anyone under 16 be accompanied or supervised by an adult. Painting from the heart can bring up topics and feelings that would benefit from the support of a loving adult. We aim to create a safe space for all and as a parent, I know parents know their kids best. During our introductions at the start of class I will be checking that an adult is present when a young person is with us.

Traditionally, a lot of women or woman-identifying individuals have taken my classes and that makes sense as women have been doing this type of self exploration more freely for a while now. I also draw from what many would describe as feminine energy or the Divine Feminine and women are REALLY hungry for HER. A big part of my burnout came from living and working in our current system, where someone else knows what’s best for you and that WAY was built by those with the power. Without getting into an essay on patriarchy, the voice of women and the voice of the feminine has been actively repressed for centuries (likely longer) leaving our systems to be built without us. If you feel like the systems aren’t working for you… chances are you are craving the feminine to. Not sure exactly what I mean? Trust your intuition and join us and you will learn. So, to put it plainly, yes men are welcome and I have taught men and boys in my classes.

What do I need? How can I prepare?

  • internet access and a device to connect via Zoom (cellphone, tablet, computer…)

  • painting supplies (see supply list above)

  • 3 hours every 2 weeks. Tell your family not to bug you, you are doing important work! Or have them join you.

  • clothing you feel comfortable getting paint on (aka all my clothing)

  • a curious mind, or at least one that’s curious about how to get curious
